Today in my playwriting class, we had 10 minutes to write a poem based on 'I am Taliesin'. I've never considered myself much of a writer, but this is something I'm quite proud of, I hope you enjoy it.

I am Freya

Provider of humour and deflection

I know why snakes hiss, why lungs turn black.

I know where darkness hides in an upswing, where happiness waits.

I know what monsters hide in the darkest corners of the mind.

How many scars and lines on skin? How many tears on a dark day?

I have been a sheep, a blade, a doormat, a door.

I hide the storm, I weather it.

I am Freya.
